We wrapped up our second quarter by focusing on child protection, active volunteer engagement, and celebrating our community’s fathers.
Fatherhood Session 2
Facilitated by Sir Bryan Fuentes, 10 fathers reflected on their role in building strong families and supporting their children’s growth and development. The session reinforced the value of intentional fatherhood and encouraged participants to become more present and engaged parents.

OSAEC Session 2
Facilitated by Ms. Luisa Carla Galicia, 29 participants from Barangay West Crame and Barangay Corazon de Jesus—including barangay officials, parents, BHWs, and child development workers—strengthened their understanding of reporting mechanisms, referral pathways, and collective action against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).

Volunteer-led Initiatives
Safety Inspection and Implementation:
Ms. Michaela Librado and four students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines assessed the Right Start Center for potential safety hazards and implemented practical improvements, including the installation of safety signages. Their recommendations will contribute to a safer and more child-friendly learning environment.
Likha-Dagat Ceramics Workshop:
Facilitated by Ms. Krista and her son Zach, children explored basic clay sculpting while learning about marine conservation in celebration of World Oceans Day. The workshop combined creativity with environmental awareness as participants crafted sea-inspired artworks.

ISM Volunteer Workshops:
Ms. Amanda and Ms. Renae of the International School Manila facilitated workshops on ethical AI use and English grammar. Participants learned how to use ChatGPT responsibly as a learning tool while strengthening their language and critical thinking skills.

Miriam College Outreach:
Student volunteers from Miriam College led a day of Zumba, games, and art activities that promoted creativity, teamwork, and active learning. Children enthusiastically participated throughout the program, developing social and motor skills while celebrating their achievements through prizes and giveaways.

Play Therapy Sessions:
As part of an ongoing initiative, volunteer Candice facilitates play therapy sessions that use play as a developmentally appropriate way to understand children’s emotions, behaviors, and experiences. Parents are also interviewed to provide valuable insights into their children’s development and family context. Together, these sessions help inform more responsive support tailored to each child’s needs.
