The mission of Right Start goes far beyond providing activities for children; it’s about empowering futures for entire families. The incredible progress shared by our community—from alumni achieving professional careers to families realizing their financial dreams—shows what happens when potential meets preparation. These success stories are not just milestones; they are blueprints for how consistent support, goal-setting, and a belief in one’s self can lead to tangible, life-changing results.

Ella was one of the first Batang Right Start. She has been there since Right Start started reaching out to their barangay through a reading program when she was 9 years old. She consistently attends the activity and a love for learning was planted in her. When Right Start built a center in another barangay, she wasn’t able to come regularly but she’s still involved in the activity as a Right Start scholar under the Educational Assistance Program. She’d attend training, personality and spiritual development sessions and other events in Right Start whenever she’s available. Aside from receiving support from Right Start, she studied in Far Eastern University with a scholarship as well. She graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary Education and is now a Licensed Professional Teacher, teaching in a progressive type private school.

Mark started joining Right Start when he was 6 years old. He’s one of the first Child Discovery Class students in the newly built center in their barangay. He had a full experience playing, reading books, making art pieces, planting, cooking, doing science experiments, going on fieldtrips, making kites, running, swimming and everything else that their class finds interesting. He also joined many other classes like Art, Dance, Violin, Orator’s class and many more. It was very much obvious by this time that he was such a creative child and was able to express himself creatively in the things he does not just in Right Start but also at home, in school, and in the community. He has won art-related awards such as the Sizonlin Cultural Award as he became a director, actor, stage manager, choreographer in his work immersion experience. According to him, seeing the play “Ang Munting Prinsipe” (The Little Prince) in one of the field trips that Right Start was invited to come to has sparked his interest in Theater Arts. Now, he is studying Bachelor of Performing Arts, Major in Theater Arts in Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He also designed Right Start’s 2024 planner.

M Family started joining the Family Empowerment Program last 2023 in which she learned about Problem Solving, writing SMART goals and writing down action plans. The family participated in other activities as well. Her daughter attends Art, Storytelling classes and other major event activities in Right Start and her husband attends Fatherhood sessions as well. They were part of Right Start’s Family Traditions last December 2023 and they have joined a field trip and Couple’s Night event in 2024.

During the consultation period by the end of 2023, they shared that their goal is to have additional income, double what they have and grow their business. They started by selling mayo and garlic sauce that they will be sending to the workers at a nearby mall. By 2024, their goal was to save up certain amount that they can use to establish a place for their business by the end of the year. They wrote down action plans that will help them achieve their goal. They were consistent and focused on their goal. They started with nothing in January but purchasing the family had an opportunity to open a small store in the community in October because by around August they were already able to save about 96% of their goal.

The mother shared that joining the Family Empowerment sessions has been her inspiration and that she learned many things about how to achieve your goal. They were very thankful and excited to share this journey to inspire other families in the community that it is possible to achieve your goals once you set your mind into it. Just do what you can and God can do even more amazing things for your family.
