Why We Exist

Creating pathways from potential to purpose: one child, one family, one community at a time.

Right Start Community Development, Inc., founded in 2011, is a SEC-registered non-profit organization with children’s interests at the heart of its existence. Right Start advocates the creative development of children in marginalized communities and has been serving the West Crame and Corazon de Jesus barangays of San Juan City for the past eleven years.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Right Start used to provide spaces for play and classes for arts, music, and foundational well-being. Since Right Start’s creative caring space concept at the center could not be feasible due to restrictions, it diverted its efforts to support families by fostering a creative space in every home in the community through the alternative program called Tara! (“Tara” in Filipino would be an encouragement to keep going).

Right Start aims to work towards its vision wherein children who are systematically overlooked are able to enjoy equal access to creative development and environments of love and care to develop them into creative, empowered, lifelong learners committed to nation-building.

Vision

Right Start envisions families fostering creative caring spaces in homes and the community to maximize the creative and holistic development of children.

Mission

Right Start exists to collaborate with families and the community to provide creative caring experiences and opportunities that contribute to children’s creative and holistic development.
